"I can't help but feel a little sad sometimes..."
Who: Monika and Open
What: Talking and interacting!
Where: Great Lake (closer to the Southern Shore side)
When: November 1
Warnings: None for right now.
Monika stayed close to the lake for a number of reasons, the most important one being it was an easily accessible water source. The way she figured, if she at least had that taken care of, the rest would be easier.
She could go a lot of time without the standard comforts, if she had to. But going too long without water, well, that was just plain dangerous!
For right now, she was just sitting near the shoreline, staring at the lake proper. Knees pulled up, her hand brushing against the ground underneath, taking in the sensation of how it all felt. The warmth of the sun's rays, the wind blowing against her hair....
There was so much life and color to everything. Monika didn't really know how to feel about it.
She wanted to say that it felt nice.
She really wanted to.

“Haven't you had enough of the lake after the last couple weeks? I know I have.”
It's the same voice as Ms. ask questions later if it all from a while back, so she's probably recognizable even with the full suit of armor.

"Oh! Hi there."
She wasn't exactly expecting this.
"Um... Isn't it kind of hot in all that armor?"

“I'm a knight, so it'll take more than it being a little warm to get to me.”
Besides, she feels more comfortable being in her armor outside right now. She doesn't trust this place and spent most of the last two weeks out of it, so this is sort of getting back into her comfort zone. It's not that she has a problem not wearing it, it's just that the whole water thing made her do things she wouldn't do normally and with nothing to really vent at or take her anger out on the parties responsible, this is how she's managing apparently.
“Besides, I figure having this on is better for exploring this place. Not sure what else is out there. Or what else is in there.”
She gestures at the lake, there's weird fog by that castle, something living in the depths, a pirate ship with supplies and whatever's up with that puzzle box she's been fighting with since. It's a mess.

It had been a pretty weird couple of weeks, definitely. Monika's glad that it's all over and she can go back to being lost and useless.
She stands up, brushing herself off and turning to face Mordred.
"Still, I had no idea that you were knight!" In all their past conversation, it was a detail that seemed to have escaped her.
"I think that's pretty neat." She leans in forward, wanting to get a nice look at all the armor.

Mordred actually seems pretty happy about that. It's weird, given the actions towards the end of her life, she was pretty much the standard for a bad knight. Before that, she did well, but betraying the king and being a large part of why Camelot fell pretty much undoes all that in most people's eyes. And Mordred knows that. But she also still views that she was a great knight and thus enjoys the praise.
“That's why I said whatever brought us here would have another thing coming. I haven't met a foe yet that I haven't been able to handle.”
...well, except her dad. Kind of. She still handled that, she just didn't come out of that any better than the King did.

"Ahaha, I can tell just by looking at you."
She wouldn't want to mess with someone like Mordred, that's for sure.
"You look like the real deal." Did she, though? She didn't know knights wore that kind of armor, but it wasn't like she was about doubt what Mordred had just told her. Not when Monika herself was pretty... ordinary.

Though why anyone would make a replica of her armor is beyond her. She's not exactly fondly remembered by anybody as far as she knows.
"You're talking to an authentic knight of..."
Her enthusiasm kind of stops dead because whoops. She's not comfortable enough to throw her name out yet, defaulting to Saber when asked. But even that might narrow things down a little too much for comfort.
Give it more time and she might be more open about it, but even a few weeks in, she's still a little hesitant.
"A knight. Let's leave it at that."

"If you're a knight then that means I have to call you "Sir," don't I?"
no subject
“You probably should, it's respectful and all, but Sir Saber sounds weird, so I'm not going to make a big ass deal out of it if you don't.”
Maybe she should've picked a better name. But it's the first thing that came to mind and she can't really take it back now. Okay, she'll have to someday and deal with the issue (which is mostly self created on her part since no one here actually cares) of “my name isn't actually Saber, it's really Mordred,” but that's a problem still off in the future somewhere.
