open log!

Who: Lance and anyone!
What: Arriving, mostly, and trying to find people and not die.
Where: Northern Drifts and then the Lake area.
When: Early/middle of October
Warnings: None so far!

Northern Drifts:

[ What wakes him was the cold. Lance hadn't had the luck to be dropped indoors, and while his armor keeps him safe from pretty extreme temperatures, he doesn't have a helmet at the moment, so his face is getting snowed on. Snowed on. He's not used to snow! Not even a little!

After minimal time of getting his bearings, which is mostly to say, to his feet, he starts calling out for his teammates. ]
What the... guys?! Keith? Hunk, Pidge, Allura? ... Anyone?

[ Resounding, snow-blanketed silence. He only briefly scans the contents of the pack, noticing his clothes and the rations, but not much else beyond that. It alarms him a little, after a moment, that it seems he's unarmed. He can't find his weapon, and the communicator on his suit's not working... but he also hasn't seen anything hostile yet. So he slings his pack over his shoulders and starts searching, picking a direction and sticking to it as much as he's able.

Once he gets to the cabins, he starts knocking on doors, and opening them when there's no answer, but nothing here really seems lived in. Periodically he still calls out a name or two, but the longer he keeps trying, the more he loses hope of anyone answering.

Eventually he slumps against a cabin wall, sighing, looking up at the sky. ]
Come on...

The Great Lake:

[ The way is both longer and shorter than he expected. The climate changes so abruptly it kind of confuses him, but the snow gives way to green and then there's water. And there's people-- at least he's pretty sure he saw a someone or two on the banks of the lake, just too far away for him to recognize, or even be sure whether or not they're human.

So now he's having a field day using his jetpack to hop from tall tree to tall tree, keeping a vantage point and trying to find out where people might live around here. Of course that's not exactly a subtle approach. ]

[Maybe more distance Lance, she's thrown her sword at enemies before. Which isn't the brightest idea, but it looks cool, and that's most of her thought process behind that.]

You can probably answer this one.

[She's annoyed, but not yelling anymore. That's a step in the right direction, probably, or looks like it. But it's mostly that since he's come down here, she doesn't feel a need to yell at him. But that could always change.]

The hell is that?

[She raises her gauntlet and points at the jetpack. Being a Servant means she was summoned with the knowledge to exist in that era, so cars, sure. Airplanes, yeah, she gets those. But jetpacks? Nope, they didn't have those as far as she knows.]

[There's a pretty undignfied snort from somewhere in that helmet.]

Not a clue. Wish I did, otherwise I'd probably know how to get back to where I was.

[And she definitely has more questions about that jetpack, but she'll ask something else instead. She's pretty sure the answer's no, but it probably can't hurt to ask. And since this takes priority, she's not going to bite his head off for asking questions of his own. Not yet anyways.]

Since we're trading questions, have you seen a guy in a black jacket around? Pretty tall, scars on his face, might be carrying a shotgun?

[She knows that sounds bad, but there's really not a better way to describe her Master without him sounding like some sort of intimidating thug. He's not, he just kind of looks like one.]

[They don't, but that's how her Master looks, she doesn't really have a say in it. And at least she didn't mention the necromancy or the occasional carjacking, that would've just made it weirder.]

Figures. Hey, wait, a giant robot lion?

[Kind of a delayed reaction there, but it took a second for her brain to actually catch up with what she heard.]

Hey, you're not screwing with me are you?

[Suddenly her temper flares up a little, and she'll angrily point at him.]

I asked you a serious question and you're asking me about something like that?

[Look she can allow the jetpack, she can see it, it's got to exist, but a giant robot lion sounds way too cool to actually exist. Not that she'll admit that much, but that's her line of thinking on the subject.]

[She's actually a giant dork once you get past all the anger. It just takes a while, and not everyone's willing to put in the time and effort. And sometimes Mordred's included in that not everyone as well.]

Then no, I haven't seen any lion robots. Giant or otherwise.

[She's still not buying it.]

[There's a lot of things she wants to ask, but they're all pretty much variations on the question “what the hell?”]

Yeah, I've got a bunch, but if you have answers to them, I'd be surprised.

[She's really not expecting him to know what's going on or where they are or any of that. If he did, he wouldn't be out here jetpacking around scouting the area. And since she's frustrated with all of this, she'll turn and kick at one of the trees, leaving a sizeable dent in it from her armored boot.]

This whole thing's a bunch of crap, I don't have time to be transported to some mysterious land and just left here! The least whatever brought us here could do is show itself.

[She feels insulted by the whole thing actually. She has no idea who anyone else, but she's a Knight of Round Table, or was, so clearly it, because she's sure there's something or someone behind all this, should at least do her the courtesy of a personal introduction.]

[It's fine Lance. Don't worry about it.So she can put her foot through a tree, honestly, if she does it again, she'll probably undo any intimidation the first kick caused by getting her foot stuck in said tree.]

I noticed that too. Where the hell did the people go? There's no real signs they moved and it didn't look like anything attacked those cabins either.

[Not too badly, probably. Maybe a little. But he'd definitely survive.]

I don't get that either. When I woke up, I thought this was some kind of attack, like an enemy Servant or something, but who brings you somewhere weird and then gives you a backpack?

[None of this makes any sense to her.]

If you don't know what it is, just think of it as the bad guys. It's easier that way.

[That's not an explanation, but Grail War mechanics are already confusing. An explanation from her will only add to the confusion. And her explanation's not exactly right because technically Jeanne's group would be the good guys, the other group would be the bad guys and Mordred and her Master are kind of in it for personal gain at this point. But yeah that just confuses the whole thing, so she's not going over that to a stranger.]

Just take my word for it that it's not that, all right? Because I'd know.

[There. All handled. Or at least she thinks so.]
arrogator: (no one saying do this)

[personal profile] arrogator 2018-11-08 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
[There is an audible sigh of relief inside her helmet. She won't admit it, but she dreads the day she says something like that and is asked to explain further. Though she's also kind of surprised that worked. But mostly relieved! Nobody wants to hear Mordred exposition, not even Mordred.]

Yeah. And I'm familiar with a lot, so that's saying something.

[This isn't a contest and she's already kind of pointed out of that she's dealt with some weird stuff what with her looking for that guy with that sounds like he should have a mugshot somewhere, but she kind of feels the need to stress that to the jetpack guy who might have a giant robot lion. Which she still doesn't buy, but you know, just in case he does.]
